This event is an important occasion for members, as it enables all of us to come together to hear reports on the state of the credit union, make comments, suggestions, and to ask questions about all things related to the credit union. Mark your calendar for Thursday, March 27th, 2025 at 5:30pm, and make plans to attend or view online. Check back or keep an eye on your email for up-to-date information and an invite to join us.
There are three Board Member terms expiring in 2025. The Nominating Committee met, and has nominated incumbents Abbie Connally, Jen Chavez, and Veronica Holmes to the Board of Directors. No election is scheduled, although additional nominees may be presented through petition. The petition must contain at least 500 signatures and be accompanied by a statement from the nominee stating that he or she is agreeable to the nomination and will serve if elected. Petitions must be delivered to UniWyo by February 11th, 2025.
Nominee Biographies
- Abbie Connally: Abbie is a Laramie native and now resides in Burns, Wyoming. She has a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Wyoming and currently serves as the Director of Contracting and Procurement for Laramie County Community College. Prior to her employment with LCCC, Abbie worked for Albany County School District and the University of Wyoming, serving in various accounting and management roles. Abbie has been a member of UniWyo Credit Union for over 17 years and loves the mission and member-centric focus UniWyo provides.
- Jen Chavez: Jen and her family have been part of the Laramie community for more than 25 years and have been valued members of UniWyo Credit Union since 2000. A proud graduate of the University of Wyoming, Jen holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration. With over 20 years of experience at UW Information Technology, she currently serves as the Interim Vice President and Chief Information Officer for the University of Wyoming. Jen is in her fifth term on UniWyo's Board of Directors, where she offers a unique perspective combining business and technology expertise. Through her leadership, dedication, and commitment to excellence, Jen has made a positive impact on the credit union's members and looks forward to continuing her service to the UniWyo community in the next term.
- Veronica Holmes: Veronica Holmes has been a proud resident of Douglas, Wyoming, since 2000. She has worked with the local school district since 2011, serving as Maintenance Secretary for the past four years. Veronica has been actively involved with the credit union since 2010. Her contributions of time and organizational expertise have helped support the development of young athletes in her community through the Douglas Youth Hockey Association. She holds a degree in Business Administration with an Accounting certificate, bringing a strong professional foundation to her roles. She is a devoted mother to two grown sons, both of whom coach hockey. With a passion for helping others, Veronica takes great pride in serving both the credit union and her community, dedicating her skills and experience to making a positive impact.
